So im finally back!
Been so busy lately with FHL and let's just say im really a blessed girl :)
Cause i may be starting a freelancing project soon (or like now)..
i have a part time job i enjoy,
i bake part time for FHL :)
2012 has been really great!

Anyway,
im sharing a recipe today! Hazelnut and Nutella Chocolate Cake it is!
Its really easy and fuss-free! Great for beginners!

And i randomly baked this cause i was craving for muffins but i have no muffin tray, nor have any ingredients (cause leslie's house doesn't have baking stuff except for an oven)

So get ready your aluminum tray and ingredients and lets bake!

Nutella Chocolate Cake
Yields an 8inch square alumimum tray

Ingredients:

Set A (DRY)
2 cups - Self Raising Flour
1/2 cup - Sugar

Set B (WET)
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
3/4 cup of chocolate milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

Set C (FLAVOUR)
4 tablespoon of Nutella (room temperature)

Steps:
Preheat your oven to 180 C & Grease your aluminium tray (or line your muffin tray)
1) Prepare Set A in a bowl, and Set B in another bowl
2) Whisk Set A till combined, Whisk Set B till combined
3) Mix Set B into Set A, until just combined (do not over mix!)
4) Afterwhich, Fold in Nutella into mixture (you may add more if you want the taste to be stronger)
5) Pour batter into aluminum tray
6) Bake for 40 mins, rotating the tray halfway
(this is a tentative gauge, do keep checking whether its baked by using a wooden stick to poke through cake)

Dummy terms:
i have been a noob in cake terms, so heres sharing some with you guys!
*Whisk = hand whisk would be fine!
*Just combined = Over mixing the batter will cause a disaster
*Fold in = Use a spatula or a big spoon to gently fold in whatever ingredients, don't overmix!, stop when its mixed

So referring to my cupcake weekend!
Yesterday i had a my melody cupcake order!
Designed the cupcake toppers!
Baked Rocky Road and Malted Chocolate Cupcakes!

We provided our ikea cupcake stand for the event too!

And today we had an event for kids!
a DIY party set where kids will get to diy their cupcakes!
Prepared 4 coloured icing, 4 condiments and some fondant for decoration!
Cupcakes are spread with vanilla butter cream cheese!

My experience today was really great! Same feeling as being a children's art teacher but in a totally different way!
The kids were so excited about the colours and decorating! AND They were all really independent in designing their cupcakes!

Feels really heartwarming to know that hard work is appreciated.
So touched!! :)

And i always feel that a child art or design is super innocent :)

So here goes!

Agreed that she sould have more exposure to some children's party :)

typing this post out as i wait for my phone to reload so i can purchase ah bao's clothes online...
As he is outgrowing his last year new year clothes.
So now, for a small dog breed like him, he is wearing size XL to XXL!
YES, i know right, he is an adult, how does he grow?
HAHA

and a lil update!
CNY Shopping with my mom, sister and leslie!

School has started and suddenly,
it has gotten really busy in my life (even without working ice cream chefs)
Which is interesting!?
From 2 and a half job and learning driving and studies and etc.
I wonder why my life gets busy so easily.

So i have been reading a book since this week.
Does help to escape into another world :)

Have another great week next week people.
Baked a Simple Hazelnut Cake yesterday at les house,
which i will be posting the recipe soon!

Last day of 2011!
Time passes so fast, this year has been full of ups and down.
I guess, the best part of this year is that i went taiwan and i got scholarship while i was in taiwan. My mom had to let me know through Facebook message and all.
:)
Saddest part of this year would be,
having to leave icc after working for 3 years.

But maybe its a well planned purpose from God? who knows?

Anyway,
im back dated!
Countdown for Christmas with the girls, jeff, mh and melvin.
Craziest countdown for christmas so far.
I don't remember screaming so much the pass few years.
hahaha.

im not really a burn midnight oil person, so recuperating took some time!
haha.
but i enjoyed myself! :)

So it was pot luck, so we brought our various food item,
and i also brought cupcakes for sunshine!
As her birthday was VERY near the corner :)

Than we played with light sticks, ate log cake and played crazy games.

FILMING AT ICC + SALTED CARAMEL & BANANA CUPCAKES

HELLO EVERYONE!
Today begin my day with a weird overnight awakening after which i slumbered back into deep sleep! hahaa. Haven't really slept well for so long!.
Sometimes i dream that im baking or decorating cookies!…. so random right!
And when i wake up, i felt like i worked the whole night…

Anyways people!
Baked SALTED CARAMEL & BANANA CUPCAKES today!
Cause my mom has been asking me to clear her bananas,

So overtime,
i just bake banana muffins or cupcakes.
Its really a great way to get rid of excess bananas :)

**BAKE TIP OF THE DAY:

If you have over-riped bananas,
just freeze them, and take them out the next day to bake!!!
Make sure you defroze and mash them first :)

Love banana cupcakes, contains lots of natural sweetness and fibre!!!!!
SAY NO TO CONSTIPATION :D
(opps. shouldn't be talking about that here..)

me and leslie worked at ice cream chefs yesterday and some filming team came for a shoot!
At first, there were only 3 person, and slowly, more and more came!!
They were filming for a kids drama i think... but good enough luh!.
Well, not exactly me and les first time seeing live production in action though.
But the atmosphere does hyped me up a bit :D
hehehehe!

They decorated the shop for us cause the shop "might" appear in the screen!.
Great art directions! but i heard their art director walked out on them! :<
(should have hired me right???, i got the minimal experience!!)
hahahaha.
but nevertheless, the interns did a wonderful job! :D

oh ya! if any of you were wondering why the gingerbread was dark in colour (which i don't find anything strange about), its because i used raw brown sugar instead of white sugar! - its better :)

Baked the remaining gingerbread dough today :)
YIELD 4 big trays of them :)
2 of which were done with my lil sister involved.
Its fun and funny to see kids get creative (and frustrated) with decorating.
haahaa

We spent the whole day decorating :)

So for sunday,
i went for a fondant making workshop,
a birthday gift from my mom and i really enjoyed my session there! :)

Although i tried fondant making before,
but this time,
with a professional guide present,
i learn even more tricks in fondant decor :)
IM SO EXCITED TO PRESENT YOU GUYS WITH MY OTHER CUTE FONDANT SOON!

So for the workshop, it was christmas themed!
we made christmas tree, reindeer, ribbons, igloo ... etc..

Have to give the trainer a thumbs up!

Really patient lady!!!!!!

(especially when the aunties immediately take out their camera and start video-ing whenever she starts talking or demostrating - haha)

Everything was hands-on, so the learning experience was surely, even-dummys-can-bake way!

And her house was cozy and lovely, with cooler fans around the house, to provide a really comfortable learning environment!
Would really attend more sessions with her!

wild greens, buttercup lettuce, corn, croutons, purple vege and raspberry vinegrette....!!!
had 2 portion of it...
drama right!... hahahahaha ...
and creme brulee (HEEEEE! )

And i wrote a feedback to the restaurant!.
Im serious when i say my previous visit was so much better!…
The previous manager even gave me his name card :) Thats professional!

Went JB last week too!
Stocked up with many many cosmetic, makeup remover and moisturiser.
Apparently they are having a seriously big sale at Watson!!!
Ate lunch at Sushi King!
Not exactly the best, but good enough :)
Ate so much for only $20 SGD :))))

Best Mascara Ever, paired with my shu uemura Curler - ZA WIDE EYES MASCARA.
BUT JB sold out on the wide eyes mascara, and i got the volume one instead!
-__- it was so much worst..
So just get the WIDE EYES MASCARA!
(don't need the base)

Have i told you guys about the latest sprinkles i was doing for ice cream chefs?

HAHA. anyway,
this is sort of what i was busy about,

So abit about my day today!

(u can totally ignore it!!!!!!)

Worked the whole day at icc today.
And i left so furious!

Im utterly disappointed!
:(
don't even know whether i can rant it out here.
sigh*

what i know is i
-clean the glass
-clean the toilet
-clean the outdoor tables
-pack the outdoor tables and chairs
-carried majority of the outdoor tables and chairs
-clean the indoor tables
-carried all the indoor tables up to place on the seats (so we can sweep and mop the floor)
-packed all the indoor chairs
-sweeped the floor
-mopped the floor
-carried all the tables and chairs and place it on their actual position

Don't even start to tell me that its just cleaning up, cause that was probably 90% of the cleaning to be done!

And about taking orders,
why even have the cheek to even complain that i didn't take order?
since your close friends always say
"take order only what, save you the hand/wrist damage"
and the supervisor even "liked" the comment in fb!
(so i presume its a polite gesture to help in mix in)

Don't even start to tell me, now, that i didn't take the order,
cause
1) i did (2 night orders)
2) i took orders for the last 6.25 hours
3) i did the mixing

OK!. save you guys of the drama.
IM JUST REALLY DISAPPOINTED!.
i know that when there was a conflict with D (which is now fine),
this girl was the person who hears D, i mean duh right?
and i know that when there was a misunderstanding with the supervisor,
this girl was the person who was there to hear the dramas.
So definitely there will be a skeptical thinking towards me and leslie...

And the real disappointment lies in washing the frost top!
:(
say one thing, mean another.
my pride, your stupid prejudice.
thats my conclusion...!

This is my ah bao nua-ing with a mascara ad!

Ah bao has a tummy upset after eating some bbq food yesterday :(
*slaps myself*
Occasionally, we do feed him with some human food as he pleads with his pitiful eyes.
And i had him brought to my class BBQ gathering yesterday,
he didn't eat much BBQ stuffs (i even made sure the oil and "any dirt" was cleaned and sucked out with kitchen napkins!),
Ah bao even came home to have his supper kibbles!

Unfortunately after his bath, he rested awhile and started vomitting :(
BAO HAS A WEAK STOMACH AS HE IS A FUSSY EATER TOO! - just like me

Anyway, cut the long long story short!
brought him to the vet today and $160 flew out of my wallet.
But im glad through the blood test and jab, he was tested to be fine all along,
Just a minor tummy upset.
(YEAP! i made a big dramatic hooha!
also cause i had like 3 short nightmares about ah bao ok)

So he is on a short medication and probiotics for now! IM SURE HE WILL BE RUNNING ABOUT,
poo-ing at the wrong place just to get on leslie's nerve by tomorrow.
(i can already imagine the LESLIE-AH BAO drama!!!!!!! -HAHA)

Before i started story telling here.
My younger sister just said "YES!" (in her little girl voice),
and *little girl giggled" at what?
at PLANTS VS ZOMBIES!.
so hilarious! :D

So Mum and sister is back from their Genting Trip,
and i took a day off from icc to stay at home to accompany them.
(in a way....)
AND I BAKED!.

Never knew even a day without any plans, without work, without school can be as tiring as a normal day!
ALSO,
tomorrow is Decemeber already,
saying bye to my lovely birthday month!
Till next year :)

MALTED CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES
Frosted with Fluffly Vanilla Cream Cheese,

The craziest part of this beautiful cupcake is surprisingly the toppers....
Cause the printer kinda cocked up on me and i have to use my imac to print instead.
So troublesome..!
But worth it,
with the decor, and smiles from the icc babes! :D

Yeap,

CUPCAKE SEASON!

Have to admit.
Baking days in a roll is really tiring.
The amount of concentration on meticulous measurements...
Can really eat my brain up. HAHA!

So past few days,
been busy with holiday! and im determine to dedicate this time to bake and gain more experience.
Many many things to do till 2011 really ends and 2012 comes knocking on our doors.
(time pass so fast)

Before that!
On sunday,
Me, Les, my sister and my mom ventured all the way to the Jurong Bird Park for my mom's company family day.
They are super enthusiastic in such events man... Have to give it to them for their energy!

SO we prepped up,
sprayed and spammed insect repellent.
OFF WE WENT!

A place super near the flamingos... Beautiful area..
(but smelled like bird poo, the second you step out of the event room)
haha.
They had fun booths set up to keep everyone busy..

baked these cuppies yesterday night, as my mom was rushing me to finish the organic bananas my grandma planted :)

Totally organic :D

AND I BAKED THIS!!.

Was a little rushy while doing the piping cause its was 12am already,

after closing the shop for ice cream chefs.

And running back to pipe (at the same time wait for the cupcakes to cool)

Actually its better to store cupcakes one day before piping..

Don't know! kinda heard it somewhere.

But im all about freshness.... !

AND as you scroll,

it has many types of piping.

oops..

BUT it taste great!

Frosting is Honey Cinnamon Buttercream :)

So recently i was busy with the submission for my final project for the semester ;)
This project is one of the project i enjoyed most compared to the previous few.
Maybe cause it was child related and cute is the factor i had for it
:)

So we were basically given a design brief to design a campaign for "KIDS@WORK" by Singapore Art Museum...
an art workshop for kids age 4-6 years old :)
(this is an assignment, not real SAM project ya)
SO my concept was BUMBLE BEE!!!
why?
cause KIDS@ WORK and Work gave me the idea of hardworking bumble bee :)
So everything revolves around bumble bee. So this concept actually will allow parents to be able to educate their child,
base on a bumble bee role model :)

bumble bees are hardworking and they are highly productive!
so YOUR KIDS CAN BE PRODUCTIVE TOO!!! :D

We were asked to produced various stuffs for the campaign.

So here goes :) :

ZO card (also known as post card) was designed to consist of an interactive honeycomb puzzle for kids to play.
And not forgetting the parents that are going to read the card,
the centre is a transparency printed image of the puzzle :)
So perforation was done on the puzzle:)

Ticket design was a little different!
it comes in the form of a specs :)
and the ticket is perforated ...... means it can be popped out

Comes with a box ;)

and the box consist of the wonderful characteristic of the bumble bee :))

16th November every year is a celebrative day for me.
And i guess, ever since i have Leslie, it has been more than celebrative.
haha.
i have to admit im not really the person who loves surprises! kinda scares me. haha

So this year, this boy started celebrative birthday plan on the 11th nov, the friday.
Gave me a card each day on what he had planned for me for the day...
So Friday 11th was a treat to anything i craved for that day,
and we settled for Fish&Co as i was craving Kola Tonic :D
super shiok drink man!!! and though my diet, i ordered the unlimited refill
:D
MADNESS !!!!!!!

Wanted to catch a movie, but there was none.
SO we shopped around for some of my baking utensils :)

Also bought a bronzer for myself from Bodyshop

12 November, Saturday came!
Received a card from leslie and it came along with a shu uemura eye curler.
Heard about the raving comments and praise about it, and felt like having it.
But i really didn't mean to let leslie buy it for me..
Totally caught me off guard

And it looks exactly like the normal eyelash curler i have!
LIKE SERIOUSLY!!!!!
but it works really miraculously.
curls more, curls are higher....
about the standing power.... guess its the same, but i usually "freeze" it with my mascara :D

so now, my eyelash can stand like damn high! haha!
Really cool!
Guess its how the curler is manufactured? the curved part is more customized?

so 13th November, Sunday,
was woken up at 10am by leslie... so early for me.
thought i could sleep in like the holidays... but nope..
and he forced me to read this letter,
where i have to scrutinize and focus my eyesight cause i just woke up...

AND he got me a pampering treat to cut,wash,blow and dye my hair....
Hesitated at first.... cause i fear hairdressers...
they snip like they never snip before ok!.

RECENTLY,
ah bao was playing with leslie's clothes and this is what he became after a few twirls.

haha. i love my bao bao so much, brings me so much joy :)

Birthday is coming along in 2 more days,
don't really have the excited feeling or what.
i guess, with age, many things clog up our mind, and there is always something more important than something else.
maybe?

But had a blast so far.
Went Korean bbq with sunshine, julie, jasmine and not forgetting leslie.
got a birthday present bag from sunshine! haha as usual, sun is ALWAYS looking out for what i need.

So recently i baked for jasmine's 22nd birthday!,
Have to explain why im baking in such a busy time of the school month,
cause we had a long holiday (4 days!!!)

and im compiling good recipes.

Got down to random decorations in icc for the halloween special! Yep! For the first time in the shop, we're pasting pumpkins around, hanging spider webs and basically decorating and doodling creatively. Special lightings to create the mood too !!!!

Whats best? We even made blood as a sauce to heighten the halloween theme. Really absurd right? But tasty!
i got to say. Its really quite fun. :)

Especially when customers try the blood we have to offer to our lil vampires :D

School's still in for me. Crazy datelines for the assignment and procrastination seems to be working great. Haha.

Its good to know when to work hard and when to chillax right?
At the end of the day, finishing the assignment to the best you can do, and get the sense of achievement :D

A day of filming as an art director

Today is a crazy Sunday, up at 7am to travel to yishun (from bedok) for a filming project...

No worries. I'm not the actress, I'm the behind the scenes art director. Got this project with a half hearted feeling that it's not gonna be so easy..

But it wasn't that bad really... Had the privilege to have Leslie accompanying me for the shoot. Director, yan hua, pleased to say is a super patient and sweet girl!! The crew was super cooperative too..!

And It was really pleasant and my pleasure to work along with her. Today has made me seen the tedious step u have to go through to make a video. And yes! This is a 3 to 5 min video. But we took a whole day for it - 830am to 630pm....

Tiring but we succeeded!

Hope the video would be great. Will be doing the mood board for submission soon.

Build-a-bear with carey!!! her 8th birthday

So September 27th is my sister's birthday!
Brought her to Build-a-bear for her birthday present!!!
I got a coupon online ($15 for $30 worth of stuffs).
Went along with mum and leslie :)

But i figured out i will be spending more than $30.
So i thought,
why not.. since its an experience and i always wanted to try to fluff thing and putting the heart into bear thing.

HAHA!So as ridiculous as it sounds,
they really have red hearts for you to make a wish, and a cert to come along.

OH YA!the other reason why i brought my sister was because of the CERT!!!.
so her birthday is 27th sep, the bear will also be "borned" on the 27th !!!
Than, she'll remember that this bear is unique cause they have the same birthday.
(omg, and my dad actually went to help my sister laminate the soft toy's cert....)
so funny!!!! :D

Good intentions only! i know many people thinks im so lame..

Went the outlet at plaza sing!
to me, thats the nicest store they have.... the one at united square looks run down and messy, and it doesn't look like a store..

First, we let her choose the favourite "bear", so it will be more memorable for her. :)

After choosing the "bear",
my sister insisted on having in-build song.
So, with the persuasion of my mother,
we got the $9 for multi-sounds.....

my mom said that cause my sister is lonely at home most of the time,
she need the sounds as companion...

Than came the most exciting part for me..
stuffing the "bear" with cotton!!!!!!!

My sister didn't want to make a wish cause she was busy acting really shy...

i asked her to go home and make her wish when there's no one.
But i don't know if she did :p

Bet my sister enjoyed this part!!
She was happily brushing away for at least 5 to 10 minutes!

my sister went a search to get her final silk pink panty..

Added baileys to enhance the flavor though, we could do without.

We only have 1 pint of it reserved for us to sample if we need to make it in future.

YES! Monday 12 sept was mooncake season.
and this is a backdated posted again. haha..

This year,maybe cause i had the chance to do copywriting on mooncakes (where i did a number of research).
therefore getting a little interest in mooncakes :D
usually i don't fancy mooncakes because i heard 1 whole mooncake can actually give you an additional whooping 1000calories!!!! super turn off already. hahaha.

But thats past!
Got hyped up and bought mooncakes for my parents this year,as my mom's a fan of durian, and dad's a fan of mango.
Me and leslie decided to buy GoodWood Park Hotel's mooncake.
Bought a set of 2 Mango Pomelo and 2 Durian mooncake

I look up to really presentable and great packaging..
With great packaging, you have already won half my heart :D

Love the graphical textures at the background :)

Mango Pomelo Mooncake that really contains good quality mango and pomelo bits...!!

Durian mooncake,
nevertheless delicious.

Box of 4 mooncakes came in this super ATAS insulation bag (do you call it that?)

Great for reusing it for picnic :)

After i gave my parents the mooncake,
Mom said she wants to try the Lychee with Lime Marshmallow Mooncake,
So 11th sep, the next day, we set off to vivo to get em,
And because i have remaining tangs rebate and 15% off..
I got 2 Lychee Lime Mooncakes for around $12 only :)
Went home, tried it, and its really not bad. something different from the norms :D
refreshing too :)

And box of 2 came in a look alike longchamp bag (as what leslie said)
hahaha. Reusable too :)

Anyway,

Didn't buy chempedak as i tried and its quite light, didn't have the super strong chempedak taste. And competing with their other flavours, the other 3 got my likings more.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY AH BAO!

Its my beloved dog, ah bao's birthday. So happy.
But actually it also saddens me when i know he adds on a year. Dog only have an average of 15 years of life.
I always tell les that, though he has 15 years, i hope he gets 15 years of happiness.
Especially when BAO came from a really bad background.

Im always happy to see him happy too.. :)

Away with the downside,
WE celebrate every birthday of ah bao. and not surpriselyly this year too.... but not too dramatically.
just special food and new toy! :D

HAHA..

we came home to Ah Bao greeting us with one of his toy we got from taiwan's claw machine.

He kinda love soft toy rather than any other expensive chew toy,

Makes me laugh, comforts me, whines to me and cuddle around me when he feels cold or lonely. (or maybe he cuddle around me cause im his cushion -_-).

He brings me lots of joy and companionship. Like a really good friend.

But of course, he has his crazy naughty moments where he decides to shit near the door than play peek a boo afterward - than les will go hysterical and ah bao will just peep at him from under the sofa.....

HAHAHA.

Anyway, yepp...

and to many dog owners who literally open a party for their dogs birthday... haha.. i actually wanted to. But Ah bao kinda prefers just me, les and him all alone. Cause when theres too many people or dogs around, hes just awkward and lays down to nua. haha.

Maybe next time though..

The Revamped > Red Velvet Cupcakes and Cream Cheese Chocolate Cupcakes

This time,

it would be short short post!

Baked Red Velvet Cupcakes and Cream Cheese Chocolate Cupcakes!

It tasted great.. although i thought i still had room for improvements.

Some unlucky stuff happened to me after i was about done baking.. :/

- burned my finger

- got a cut

and most unfortunately,

- someone shifted my oven heating position to baked from the bottom ONLY.

Was really pissed off, cause i was wondering what happened to my cupcakes - was suppose to be better!

AND to my dismay,

I was baking from the bottom all the time.

Can only blame it for my ignorance i guess....

*shrugs*

sorry guys!

But luckily the cupcakes came out fine,

although i thought it could really be 10x better..

Another thing is,

my oven turning knob is spoiled,

so there isn't really any knob to turn the timing and baking-heating-position thing.

I have to excruciatingly use my fingers to turn it everytime i baked.

Which explains my facebook and twitter status for a new oven,

and hopefully a kitchenaid mixer :)

Guess many of you out there don't have professional ovens and mixer.

Fret not!

Don't give up, you can still bake :D

Many of my friends are asking me for the samples of the cupcakes.

*shy*

I 'll be baking this weekend as i have loads of cream cheese to clear.

(as i personally feel that high frosting is relatively more difficult to keep, its not as pretty if its damaged right?)

SKC National Dog Walk 2011

So last Sunday,

me and leslie went for the National Dog Walk! :)

We pre-registered for a price of $15 per adult and Fun Events for Ah bao at $6.

It was a really hot day and we prepared early in the morning to set off to ECP

This is how we bring Ah bao for outings:

He loves his bag so much when we shake it,

he starts shaking his tail... :)

btw his bag is LV, i mean LD. which stands for LovableDog.

My ah bao is a fun dog, he doesn't get involve in agility events - too lazy i guess

The only agility segment he do best, is probably going-up-slope-and-coming-down-slope, which he tried at NEX!

we went to a nearby bench to rest.

bought ice cream and 100 plus to cool down.

OH! did you know, during this period of the event,

i read from the straits times that a silky terrier was killed by a big dog..

so poor thing..

And we were oblivious to the situation as we were slacking at one corner,

eating our ice cream and photo spamming our ah bao..

oh no....

our 1-for-1 Magnum ice cream for the day :)

Finally the call for King / Queen of the day is here!

we went to queue.

SO what we're suppose to do of the fun event, is to walk our dog up the stage and introduce our doggies!

So this is leslie and ah bao in the queue.

We didn't really dress ah bao in fanciful outfits as we were afraid he got a heatstroke.

Considerate action, as shih tzu's get heat stroke really easily.

Anyways, it was great to see other owners dressing their doggies in princess and prince outfit!

we didn't win...

expected though. Cause usually other dogs are more well-bred and comes from certified breeders.

But im proud ah bao participated in the event :)
Ah bao was abandoned in a puppy mill and we got him.

and he has big eyes..

BUTTTT he has a cool attitude ok. :)

and we never ever win lucky draws before...

My dog, Ah bao's birthday is coming up in september the 11 :)
And as a very excited paw parent!
I sourced around for a present for him.!!!

Always wanted to get pawglam's collar for him, but im always hesitant because of the price.
The one i eyed on was $30+.
Quite crazy for a still-schooling kid like me :p

AND THIS AUGUST!
i remembered that ah bao birthday is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*party poppers*

and it was a really good excuse!

So we proceed to buy the collar online. :) The service was great as i emailed them about delivery issues and the owner replied the same day but at night...
i mean, i thought everyone knocked off from work already?
But she continued replying my emails till 10pm.
So,
that's a plus one for great service already.
Fussy Buyers can really be rest assured, as the owner's really patient and polite in the enquiries.

Leslie went to collect the collar at her apartment and it came with a pretty silver bag and customised Pawglam ribbons....!!!!!!

oh by the way, i took the pictures at work in icc, and some of em, at leslie's house!

Somehow the only confusing part of the collar is that i don't really know whether the main attraction of the collar is suppose to be reflecting below his face (on his throat), or on his nape.

Don't know whether you get me?.. haha

Cause i thought normally it should be at the neck,

but as he walked around the house, it seemed to slowly move to his nape (like the above picture)

HAHA! but both looked nice also la.

So i don't really have any complains.....

Think the only down part is, it kinda differs from the main web's picture, the size of the charm.

Or maybe im just blind. :p

Still, im really pleased with the quality and service i got!!!!!

Im back for my 2nd post for 2011 :)
Will be telling you guys about the cupcakes i baked for reianne's 2nd birthday.
Reianne is leslie's cousin, a really cute little girl. :D
SO... last saturday was her mini birthday celebration!!!

so exciting!

So having being really inspired to bake cupcakes that day,
i took advantage of the opportunity to bake pretty cupcakes! :)

Anyway this time i baked chocolate chip cupcakes with light buttercream, decorated with silver dragees!

pretty? i hope they are :)
Cupcakes are nice to look at, but actually they take a lot of effort and soul into it...

and each step to making cupcakes are really crucial!

Most importantly, taste should always be of standard :)

How i really wish he wins, but i guess its a bit hard.

Long story goes about my AH BAO,
He came from a puppymill where he was abandoned. We got him.
He has really big eyes which i find adorable but many find scary..
But its not that bad now,
The vet recommended him to go for an operation to close his eyelids a little...
Its better now, but he kinda makes his eye pop out when he is excited!.

So yes, back to the point.
This is a great opportunity to make my dog shine.
And at least give him a chance to..

went back to see many blog entries i've penned down since 2008 and yes did i find really interesting photos. haha

anyway, its december already.

My birthday has long pass,
But just a few reminders to myself when i read back this entry in 2011 or 2012 or beyond....

i try getting every emotion down from the first moment.
(minus the part of mishap from the car company :( )

My first ever party include the simplest neccesities - food, decorations and a chalet.
Prepared our self made tarts and soba.
:))
on the actual day, jac came down to help,
which im really touched cause she was the only one who really made it down to help :)
Decorations were already done up,
So she helped in the tarts and especially the soba...
of course with many laughs and screamings at each other,
and also with JAC eating the grapes while placing the grapes on the tarts :D

Anyway,
scary part begins when the first guests starts to come,
and crazy enough everyone comes around the same timing,
which drew me into many circles or unfinished conversations and hi welcomes..
To think im sociable is wrong....
cause i actually quite panicked and became frantic and nervous as friends came in..

Maybe because i am the usual loud speaker in the various clique,
my party was oddly quiet...
..MAJOR WEIRDNESS.

Cake cutting came and can i admit, it was weird too??
cause i queued for my own birthday song while my friends stared in silience..
hahahaha.
But though the many craziness im feeling..
im really thankful for all the friends that appeared and presents..

i particularly had the
BIGGEST HUG from CHOO CHOO (which meant a lot to me)
which i remembered most clearly..........

BIGGEST REASSURANCE from Angel

BIGGEST SUPPORT by HK and BE...... cause they happen to be the only one who notice that something was quite weird in the party

BIGGEST LOVE from leslie for planning the birthday party.

GREATEST HELPER will be jac who made the effort to help

BIGGEST GIRL GANG was julie, sun, jas, choo plus their boys (mh, melvin, jeff)
who stayed after the cake cutting and opened presents with me :)

and basically all who came to make a 21st more special to me.... :DD

dear diary.

im posting very obviously cause leslie got SUNDAY DUTY again.. i feel so bored at home..
woke up and feed ah bao and went back to sleep till 5pm..
the feeling of sleeping is damn shiok.
the feeling of waking up after a long sleep SUCKS...

anyway, LESLIE's 21st birthday is over. i hope in his point of view, Every moment of it was perfect...:D

was really busy on his party day.. i know i can't stick to him like glue throughout the event,
so i kept myself busy with Everything all at the same time..
Fondue, cake, party poppers, taking photos, guestbook, instructing people where is the toilet, ....
and it repeats over and over..
the only part i couldn't much enjoy is that im perspiring due to running about here and there....

everything went well and i thank God for the grace he poured for his birthday, making everything work out as planned. :)

Just felt really unhappy about the cutting cake part,
cause his mom was bugging him to cut cake..
and most of his maternal side parent ACTUALLY LEFT without taking a photo with him, without eating the cake.... :/
i mean, isn't all the effort put into this party a good reason to stay 5 minutes more.??
isn't LESLIE a greater reason to stay???

sigh*

only his paternal side took picture with him with full glory..
his maternal side only his mom and bro..

i know i shouldn't be judging much here cause his mom explained that they had to go home early and all....
aiya...
but ok.. thats the only thing im quite unhappy about the party.....
but everything is ok. :)

gave him an ipod touch for as an advanced present yesterday :D
im glad he was SHOCK and SURPRISED that he got an ipod touch...
not iphone cause he has a blackberry..

downloaded the apps and all..
seriously quite addictive and engaging uh..

even dl the toilet paper app.. where u pull toilet paper and break record timing.. hahaha. SO FUNNNY..
gave him SHE concert tickets too..
towards the cheena part of life.. and angmoh part of life..

SPEAK ABOUT MC, my dear LES LES actually fainted while on the way to my house yesterday.. and imma such a loser gf, the first thing i saw him lying on the floor is ask him; "baby. why u lie on the floor?"
than i came to realise like 1 second later... OMG, LES FAINTED...
ya!! than i called my dad, and he rushed down the block, (first time i saw my dad frantically ran to rescue my LES = so touched)..
i wanted to cry, but i couldn't, i manage to keep all the anxiety.. dunno why... maybe because i knew he was in safe hands???
God protectsss :)

the worst thing was, when this indian woman, around the vicinity where les fainted, she asked, "what happened to him?"
than i said;" he fainted"
and what she did the next minute was.....
SHE walked away
LITERALLY WALKED AWAY....
and i was left there alone with LESLIE unconscious body in frantic..
luckily there was this china woman and malay man who helped him...

so 12 feb he went out to get something (the surprise).. than i was cooped at home to help in CNY preparation... painted the parquet floor on my brother's room.... ya lor...
than he came to my house with.. "VALENTINE'S DAY" movie ticket..

it may not sound really shocking or surprising..
but it was to me... cause he hid it in a card :)

and i wasn't expecting to watch it for valentine's day... thought we would be catching it on a random date..

after movie... was MISS U CAFE, the dining place we went for the 1st V day we spent in 2009...

yesterday there was this stupid urge of spending money to let ah bao go grooming..

WE REALLY SEND HIM.

today i went over leslie's house to feed ah bao.
cause yesterday when he nights outs, his mum was SO unhappy that she has to feed ah bao everyday BY HAND (cause naughty bao bao doesn't want to eat his food)

So today i went over to feed ah bao. (NOT BY HAND) and he finished his food faster than me sia!!! POWER!!.
than groomed him, cut the hair at butt, under paw and etc..
i know one day he has to go to a certified groomer to drain his anal drain.
hahaha.. but for now, im ok at grooming him.. :D

brought ah bao to my house and ever hence,
he has been whining, cause he's in my room and the cat is outside roaming and luring ah bao to play with him..
LAME..

i think Ah bao is better with the sterilization operation done.. a bit tamer than usual.. he doesn't fight back any more...
but his protective instinct is still there...

anyway, i am surfing the webs for cny clothes..

ive been hooked to harvest moon on PSP :) and its really a pleasure just having my mind on a game and abuse my responsibility (as a young adult) to go find a job or do something more appropriate..

it was such a scary experience.

i finally went to the dentist today.
with a hell out of a swollen wisdom tooth gum.
its so swollen i can't even bite..

so i eat like super slow..

so dentist today was shockingly cheap.
and im quite shocked (again) that the dentist is so young..
maybe look young but actually like super old..

cannot keep bragging about it, if not Leslie will be jealous.

and didn't charge x ray and consultation.

i think 24th december held more of the celebrative mood rather than 25 dec!.
25 december was a rather holy day and sleepy day instead.

woke up in the morning to open all the many presents and went leslie house to feed ah bao medcicine
..
than headed to church for service.
than home to eat the log cake :)
than guess what,
everyone fell asleep...

what an afternoon, cozy enough to sleep :D

Opening presents was hell out of fun..
especially for my sister, she prolly had the most presents of all.

i totally burnt my christmas eve baking 2 CHRISTMAS LOG CAKE with leslie.
1 for my family..
1 for my grandma (who has diabetes)

i baked with equal sugar :D..
and damned careful with the sugar content that needs to be inside.

Quite an experience...

celebrated christmas eve at home with 2 HUGE pizzas.. :)

it was SO tiring baking a logcake ..
but it turned out well. decorated well.
LESLIE was a great great help too. :)

its been like bloody long since i last blogged.
cause leslie finished his 4 wisdom teeth extraction.
and he has 8 days MC to be with his love-dependant girlfriend.
..

so that totally explains the absence. :)

so ive been treating les BETTER than normal after his op...
serve him like a good girlll.. (feed medicine? very patient..etc)

and poor boy, have his right gum / cheek swollen...
being so 'hiao', i think it should be a BIG blow to him.....

Recently.
i bought leslie's christmas present..
its expensive, but i think..
worth it...
i am usually not the one EVEN WILLING to spend 150 + bucks for something.
but i guess,
than again..
LOVE IS BLIND...
the price tag must have been $10 instead of $150+...

and met up with the girls yesterday!.
imma so happy happy. although the wait was cruel.
but i guess from suki sushi, to juliana's TOTALLY HOOKED game machine
(the one u have to gamble ur luck and 'kiap' the toy that worth nothing of what ure gambling??)
i totally enjoyed it in taiwan and sworn of it till i go back taiwan again..
cause my poor baby les was like changing money for his thoughtless girlfriend, in taiwan.........

HAHAHA. but it was fun seeing all of us scream and curse the machine..

the buffet was so great. never ate sushi with a group of friends for such a long time already.. and its so different.. :DDDDDDDDD

and gift exchange was hilarious.. i don't know why...
everything was just so funny and hilarious yesterday..

than shopping town...

we even took a picture with santa...
(sunshine kept the photo for birthday present... i bet a memory is worth more than money can be paid )

p.s. tomorrow ah bao is going for cosmetic surgery, cause the vet say his eye were POPPING out literally...and he keep getting recurrent glaucoma. ALTHOUGH he is still damn active and happy everyday. Its for the best.. so im keeping my faith UP and believing God will make AH BAO an even HEALTHIER looking DOGGY!. i love you DAO-BAO and AH BAO!!!! :D
